Welcome to Spring
80 degrees coming up on Monday. That should do it for any remaining snowpack in our woods and signals the transition from Steelhead fishing to trout and warm water. I think we have a couple solid weeks of steelheading on a few streams, but many anglers will shift their focus to other species this week. I myself am really excited to tangle with some smallmouth and start my dry fly scouting for trout. Water temperatures are all over the place, but are trending up fast. We could use a shot of rain soon, but other than that things are looking great. Ticks are out in force already, but the mosquitoes and black flies have held off for now. The shop is well stocked and our Guides Kole and Nick are ready to go. Join us this spring for a float or wade during one of the best times of year to fish trout, bass, walleye and pike. If I had to pick my favorite time of year to fish in the central yoop it would be right about now. Mid May-Mid June is the sweet spot around here and our gatekeepers the mosquitoes, keep many fisher folks off the water. We have our tricks for dealing with them and enjoying stellar fishing with nobody in sight. See below for the bugstopper line from Simms.
