The weather feels right for May and after a very cold April it is nice to see some pleasant temperatures.  Water levels vary widely right now, but with some searching you will find what you are looking for. Steelhead fishing opportunities are still strong, but many streams have peaked. Trout fishing is picking up as water temperatures are rising past the mid 40's  and they are just waking up. Bass fishing to the south of us has turned on and the smallmouth are keeping many anglers busy as they wait for the walleye and pike opener this weekend. This years walleye opener looks great with the late spring and we should be able to find them shallow and concentrated. Lake Superior has been fishing great for those trolling and casting at the river mouths. Cranks and jerk baits have been the hot baits and coho have been the main target.
